We have a large selection of historical photos of Thorndon on display throughout the pub which have been painstakingly collated by Cherry Rich the village recorder and local historian Irene Theobald. They offer a fascinating insight into how life has changed in Thorndon in the last century but also show how many of the wonderful old buildings still remain, including The Black Horse Inn which was built in the 1600’s and luckily survived a fire in 1998 which destroyed much of the roof.
